“The poor should never be treated poorly.”
Founder and executive director, Brother Ronald Giannone, OFM Cap.

Serving the needy is an important part of the outreach ministry at Immanuel.  One of the key ways members do so is by participating in the Emmanuel Dining Room programs through the Ministry of Caring in Wilmington, Delaware. A hot meal, fellowship, and kind words are provided to any guest who appears at the door.

We serve Emmanuel Dining Room South at Rogers Road on the third Monday of the month, and have for over 45 years. Volunteers help prepare and serve around 120 lunches at Rogers Road.

Immanuel's volunteers are responsible for preparing meatball sandwiches, vegetables, fruit, and a dessert for all guests, who are served at their tables by volunteers from local corporations and people doing community service.

It's about a three-and-a-half hour commitment, once or twice a month, however, if your time is limited help during the main lunch hour of 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. is also welcomed. It's also a way to open our hearts and nourish as Christ Himself did, without judgment or questions, to those who most need it.

If you're interested in participating, please speak to Bob Irwin or contact the parish office.
