Why This Study?

Many Christians want to read the Bible more faithfully but aren’t always sure where to begin. How do we understand Scripture? How does God speak through it? What role does the Holy Spirit play as we read?

In this six-week study, we’ll explore those questions together.

Together we’ll learn simple ways to read Holy Scripture that keep Jesus Christ at the center, invite the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and help us grow as disciples.

Whether you’ve studied the Bible for years or are just beginning, you’re welcome to join us as we learn together.

Topics We’ll Explore

Each session focuses on an important aspect of hearing God’s voice in Holy Scripture.

• God Speaks Through Holy Scripture
• The Holy Spirit Opens Our Understanding
• New Birth and a New Way of Hearing
• The Spirit Forms the Church as a Hearing Community
• The Spirit Helps Us Pray the Scriptures
• The Spirit Forms a Life of Obedience

Come to one session or all six—each evening offers meaningful study, discussion, and practical encouragement for reading Holy Scripture in your daily life.

Our Guiding Theme

Throughout this study, we return to one simple truth:

“God still speaks to us through the Bible, and we understand the Bible by the help of the Holy Spirit.”

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26 (NIV)

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 (NIV)

What to Expect

Each Monday evening we'll:

• Open with prayer.
• Read a passage of Holy Scripture together.
• Spend time discussing what we've read.
• Close in prayer.

Whether you come with years of Bible study or are just beginning to explore Scripture, you'll find a relaxed, welcoming environment where we can learn from one another and grow together.

An Invitation

Reading the Bible isn’t just about learning facts or finding answers. It’s about coming to know Jesus Christ more deeply and allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our hearts through God’s Word. That’s something we can do best when we read, pray, ask questions, and learn together.

Whether you join us for one evening or every week, we’d love to have you walk through the Scriptures with us.

Knowledge and understanding begin with just a conversation.
