Part of our ministry at Immanuel is to serve the community we worship in. It is with this in mind that the program of mentoring children in local schools was started by members of Immanuel’s Vestry. Since 1994, mentors have been working one-on-one with children at the Carrie Downie School on Frenchtown Road in New Castle. The partnership is flourishing on both sides, with about 20 to 30 volunteers – roughly half of them members of Immanuel – serving as mentors.
